Planning standard solution preparation – faster and easier
MT Laboratories provides its own calculator to support standard solution preparation for residual solvent determination by headspace gas chromatography (GC-HS).
The tool is designed for analytical laboratories where selecting concentrations, dilutions and target limits of quantitation (LOQ) is an important part of method development, validation and routine analysis.

The GC-HS Calculator is proprietary software developed by MT Laboratories and made available directly from our official server, mtlab.pl.

Key features
w/w and w/v concentration conversion
Convert concentrations relative to the analyte/API and to the solvent, accounting for sample mass and solution volume.
HS vial dilution correction
Account for additional dilution of the standard solution in the headspace vial when required by the analytical procedure.
Practical aliquot volumes
Select practical aliquot and dilution volumes, adjust them and recalculate the resulting concentration.
Default LOQ based on ICH Q3C
Preset LOQ values corresponding to 10% of the applicable ICH Q3C limits, with the option to enter any desired value.
Comparison with literature data
Preliminary comparison of the target LOQ with available reference values for individual solvents to help flag potentially unrealistic sensitivity targets.
PDF calculation report
Document input parameters, standard solution preparation and calculation results in a single report.

Availability and use
The GC-HS Calculator is free of charge and available in Polish and English. The beta application runs on Windows without installation.
An internet connection is required at startup to verify that the application version is up to date.
Important: The calculator is a supporting tool. Calculation results and LOQ comparisons with literature values must be assessed by the user in the context of the specific analytical method. The software does not replace experimental LOQ determination or method validation.
